Brazil reached a new level of solar energy in 2021, surpassing 10 GW of operating power, according to a survey carried out by Canal Solar, based on data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

For William Sheng, CEO of Sunova Solar, the new energy record is a reflection of the country's increased demand for renewable energy.

Another point brought up by the executive is the climatic and geographic factor of Brazil. “A large part of the country is located in the tropics, with many hours of sunshine and enormous potential for solar energy generation”, he comments.

“Sunova believes that Brazil, as one of the fastest developing countries in the world, has a great opportunity for the development of the photovoltaic industry”, adds the executive.

Currently, the company has a branch in Brazil with a sales and after-sales service team. “Sunova Solar is now a well-known module brand in Brazil and became one of the ten most remembered solar module brands in Brazil in 2020,” highlights Sheng.

“The 450W monofacial and bifacial modules and 545-550W monofacial modules manufactured by Sunova Solar have performed very well in the Brazilian market. Among them, the bifacial 450 W and the monofacial 545-550 W meet the requirements of the ex-tariff list, which allows Brazilian customers to enjoy tax exemption preference for import purchases” says Wellington Araujo, general director of Sunova in Brazil.

“The Brazilian market is very prosperous now and will continue to be for many years. I look forward to the future performance of Sunova Solar’s 210mm wafer modules in Brazil,” he adds. Also according to Araujo, the company has a strong distribution channel in Brazil and has very good cooperation with photovoltaic equipment distributors Go Solar, Genyx and Alumifix.

Davi Saadia, CEO of Go Solar, highlights that it is a great honor to join forces with Sunova Solar to explore the Brazilian solar market. “Sunova Solar has excellent equipment. We are very satisfied with its technical soundness, its product quality and its after-sales service. In the process of cooperation, we overcome one difficulty after another and build deep friendship and mutual trust. We look forward to greater cooperation in the development of C&I power plants, residential energy, storage and other aspects.”

International market

Today, Sunova has more than 400 industry partners in more than 30 countries and regions around the world. For Brazil, Mexico, Poland, Southeast Asia and other emerging photovoltaic markets, the annual cumulative delivery has reached more than 500 MW.

“In recent years, Sunova Solar has expanded its investment in efficiency modules. By the end of 2022, module capacity will reach 3GW, including 2GW in China and 1GW abroad.” comments the company president.

With investments in photovoltaic mounting system, inverter, energy storage, the company seeks to become the world's leading provider of integrated solutions for distributed photovoltaic stations.
