A Trina Solar recently signed a multi-year framework agreement with global renewable energy company Low Carbon. The partnership covers three years and includes the supply of at least 1 GW of photovoltaic modules for low carbon projects in Europe.

This agreement allows both companies to continue to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy, as well as providing security in planning project pipelines and will help speed up the contracting process for future orders.

For the first deliveries in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, Trina Solar Vertex modules were selected. Recently launched, these products are equipped with 210mm i-TOPCon N-Type cell technology.

According to the manufacturer, this series reaches a maximum power of 605 W, 40 W higher than conventional N-Type modules on the market. “Additionally, the double glass module increases bifaciality for 80% and provides higher efficiency, lower degradation and better energy yield for a LCOE lower".

“On the other hand, the Vertex 670W+ series has a maximum efficiency of 21.6%. Equipped with 210mm monocrystalline cells, the selected modules have a bifacial design and improved performance in lower light areas, making them a versatile option for upcoming low carbon projects,' the company emphasized.

For Justin Thesiger, director of Operations & Management at Low Carbon, the agreement with Trina marks an important milestone for low carbon, as they increase their international renewable energy portfolio.

“Its high banking capacity and ability to commit to high volumes of early delivery made Trina Solar a natural choice”, he highlighted.

“Our company has more to offer renewable energy investors than just products – instead, we offer a shared vision of bringing clean energy to everyone,” commented Gonzalo de la Viña, President EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) from Trina Solar.

According to the manufacturer, long-term framework agreements give companies investing in clean energy projects, such as Low Carbon, the ability to accelerate the tracking of orders, being able to block production volumes as necessary.

Trina’s ESG Commitment

From 2015 to 2020, Trina reduced water and energy consumption in the company's manufacturing process and operations by more than 60%. Vertex modules have, for example, received a Carbon Footprint certification from TÜV Rheinland.
