Trina Solar announced the closing of a transaction of around 1 GW in photovoltaic projects carried out in Latin America and Europe for Rise Found, a global investment fund managed by TPG. The total value of the deal is approximately US$ 700 million.

The projects included in the sale are under construction, operation or in the final phase of development in locations such as Spain, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. The complete portfolio of projects is expected to be delivered by the end of 2022.

“We are very excited to work in partnership with Trina Solar, which has a long history of developing cutting-edge solar projects in key markets. TPG and the Rise Fund look forward to joint efforts with Trina Solar to accelerate positive impacts on the environment, starting with this 1 GW of clean energy production,” said Ed Beckley, partner at TPG.

For Gao Jifan, president and CEO of Trina Solar, it is a great honor to implement this partnership with TPG and the Rise Fund. “This transaction demonstrated and reinforced our market leadership in the area of developing solar projects abroad. We have talented teams in each of the regional markets and have built a significant volume of project series in the international market. We will continue to collaborate with our key global partners to combat climate change together and generate benefits for international communities through solar energy,” highlighted Jifan.

Trina is recognized for the 6th time as Top Performer

Trina Solar was recognized as Top Performer for product reliability and performance among global photovoltaic module manufacturers from PVEL (PV Evolution Labs) – the global solar industry's leading independent testing laboratory.

The company is one of the only solar module manufacturers to earn the recognition for the sixth consecutive time since the Top Performer designation was established.
