This Wednesday (6), the tracker manufacturer TrinaTracker completed the delivery and construction of three new photovoltaic plants for the companies Radiant, Eldosol and Kesses, in the municipality of Uasin Gishu, Kenya. Together, the facilities have an installed capacity of 155 MW.

For José Carlos Talavera, TrinaTracker project manager on the African continent, the project is a source of pride. “We are proud to implement photovoltaic plants in remote areas, as we can help the local population through the projects we carry out,” said Talavera.

“Just like the projects in Kenya, it is a great pleasure to see how the Kalenjin learn about photovoltaic technology and are more aware of sustainability issues”, added the manager.

TrinaTracker collaborated with the local government, with the aim of promoting improvements in the local economy and the quality of life of the residents of Uasin Gishu, people who are members of the Kalenjin tribes.

According to Trina Solar's tracking unit, the cooperation was carried out by recruiting residents from five villages located close to the project, with the intention of involving them in the construction of the photovoltaic projects.

In addition, the company informed that technical treatment will also be offered. Also according to TrinaTracker, recruitment is a strategy to offer new job opportunities and, consequently, provide better living conditions.
