A solar energy is already a reality at the 24-hour UPA (Emergency Care Unit) in the city of Sapiranga, located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

According to Pasta, a 73.8 kWp photovoltaic plant was installed – the result of a donation from the company RGE Sul Distribuidora de Energia. In total, they used 164 450 Wp panels.

To give you an idea of the reduction in energy consumption, the electricity bill in February was R$ 19 thousand, while the current bill was around R$ 200 – that is, a saving of almost 100%, stated the city hall.

The investment in the health unit was R$ 243 thousand, acquired by the CPFL Group through the RGE in Hospitals Program.

“The intention is always to better serve the community and this action will enable the use of resources, which would go towards the energy bill, in areas where they are most needed”, said Elizandra Castro, business consultant at RGE.

“We have made important investments in the municipality, with improvements to serve our customers”, he highlighted.

According to Mayor Carina Nath, this is a successful partnership, which guarantees an economy that will benefit the entire population. “The amount saved returns to citizens in the form of health services.”
