The investment was around R$ 5 million and its operation should start this semester

A A Telecom, a telecommunications and IT infrastructure solutions company from Pernambuco, installed a photovoltaic plant of 824.04 kWp. The plant is estimated to be capable of producing 1,215 GWh per year.

The project has 1,512 Tier 1 panels 545W bifacial AE Solar and seven inverters Solis. The investment was around R$ 5 million and its operation should begin this semester. According to the company, the plant will meet 80% of the company's energy demand.

“The decision to apply AE Solar Tier 1 bifacial modules is the right one. The technology allows generation on both sides of the solar panel, also taking advantage of the light reflected from the ground, reducing the physical space required to implement the system and the cost per unit of energy generated,” he says. Ramon Nuche, general director of AE Solar Brasil.

Second Adilson Gadelha, deputy director of Controllership at Um Telecom, the installation of the solar plant reflects Um Telecom's commitment to socio-environmental responsibility. “Um Telecom is committed to the best ESG practices and the solar plant is another reflection of our commitment. We are proud to provide the best connectivity solutions through clean energy”, he says.

“Technology is a great ally for ESG practices as it reduces displacement and provides the basis for auditable and transparent governance practices, for example. But it is a sector that consumes a lot of energy, and using renewable sources is an important step towards market sustainability”, adds Gadelha.

The solar park is located in the municipality of São Caetano (PE) and occupies 10 thousand square meters, with the structure to double its capacity according to the development of new business by Um Telecom. The installation was carried out by the company specialized in solar energy Insole.

Gadelha highlights that in addition to the environmental benefits, the photovoltaic plant has other advantages, such as the guarantee of supply at a known price and without sudden tariff changes. “The investment was guided by sustainability and concern for clean and renewable energy. But self-production of energy also provides cost predictability, which can help with better planning and optimization of our operations”, he ponders.
