Vila Velha will have savings of 90% with solar DG plants

Solar panels will be installed in schools, health units, pumping stations, among other equipment

The City Hall of Vila Velha (ES) will be the first in Espírito Santo to implement microgeneration and distributed solar energy minigeneration plants aimed at the public service, such as schools, hospitals, social assistance centers, pumping stations, among others.

A The technology is expected to be installed by the end of the year and that, after completion of the work, the municipal economy with electricity expenses of approximately 90%. 

Currently, the municipality consumes an average of 1,030,188 Kwh/month with these equipment, which generates a estimated monthly cost of R$ 1.1 million. The installation of the equipment will be carried out by a contracted company.

According to the City Hall, the initiative aims to make the municipality more sustainable, producing clean energy and achieving the goals of SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) of UN (United Nations Organization).

The Vila Velha government also highlighted that the savings generated by solar panels will be directed priority for investments in infrastructure, education, health and public safety of the city.

In the city's schools, for example, photovoltaic systems were designed so that all units can have air conditioning in the classrooms, providing comfort and quality for students and network employees.
