A Alema (Legislative Assembly of Maranhão) will include the installation of a photovoltaic system in your parking lot carport format. The implementation was tendered in January 2021 and will have total investment of R$ 3.1 million.

In addition to generating energy for the building, the structure will serve to house the vehicles of employees and the population served on site. The plant is expected to be operational by November this year.

The estimate is that the savings in the monthly cost of electrical energy obtained by the Legislative Branch is 42%. The company responsible for executing the project is Silveira Engineering, winner of the bid.

The deputy administrative director, André Ferreira, explained that to reach the project execution phase, a Technical Economic and Environmental Feasibility Study was carried out.

“This preliminary technical study led us to analyze several scenarios and define the one most suited to our needs. Equatorial Energia has already approved the opinion on access to our executive project”, he highlighted.

According to Luís Ernani, engineer Luís Ernani, coordinator at Alema in the electrical engineering sector, the roof structure services have already been completed.

“The parking space structure, called carport, is already 50% completed. We will use 1,204 modules”, explained Ernani.

According to Antino Noleto, administrative director of Alema, the implementation of the photovoltaic system is foreseen in the Strategic Planning, prepared by the Board of Directors of the Assembly, lasting ten years.

“This project has a very expensive and important purpose for society as a whole, from a global perspective, which is to seek clean and renewable energy. Thus, at the same time as we seek to reduce operational costs with energy consumption, we set an example to guide society on the path it should pursue”, highlighted Noleto.

Noleto also highlighted that the project will enable the Legislative House to produce clean energy for two and a half decades, with significant savings in the operational system.

“Not only in terms of contributing to the production of clean energy, but also in setting an example of which path to follow. We will end 2022 with this system fully operational. This is yet another innovative and structuring action taken by President Othelino Neto”, he added.
