TIM lança edital para aquisição de usinas e amplia atuação com energia limpa

TIM is receiving proposals to acquire renewable energy plants throughout Brazil. The operator is looking for lower capacity plants that, combined, should supply approximately 7,000 antennas and stores in 11 states, with a total volume of 14 GWh per month.

The measure is part of the company's project of initiatives aimed at distributed energy generation. According to Bruno Gentil, Chief Business Support Officer at TIM, the quote request is aimed at companies that work with solar, wind, hydraulic and biomass sources.

According to the company, the priority is for companies that are consolidated in the distributed generation market, and that already have projects underway with energy concessionaires. The new plants will be connected to 18 distributors.

Currently, the TIM It has 34 solar, hydro and biogas power plants in operation. The operator's goal is to have 90% of its energy consumption come from renewable sources by 2025.

“We are investing more and more in clean energy and we should close next year with 60 plants, practically doubling the amount we currently have and generating enough energy to supply a city with 150 thousand inhabitants every month. The telecommunications sector is usually a driver of good ESG (environmental, social and governance) practices and TIM wants to lead this movement in the market”, highlights the executive.
