A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved, this Tuesday (28), two more tariff adjustments in Brazil, extending the sequence of increases in the electricity bill throughout 2026.
The new indices affect the concession areas of Neoenergia Pernambuco and the Equatorial Alagoas, which together serve approximately 5,6 million consumer units. The revisions are part of the distributors' annual tariff update process, which considers factors such as generation costs, sector charges, and investments in the electricity grid.
In Pernambuco, the average effect will be 4,25%, with an impact of 3,26% for residential consumers, 3,41% for low and medium voltage, and 7,19% for high voltage, a segment that includes industries and large consumers.
In Alagoas, the average readjustment will be 5,43%, with an increase of 4,46% for residential consumers, 4,71% for low and medium voltage, and 7,8% for high voltage.
ANEEL It has already approved 14 increases in electricity bills for 2026.
With the new approvals, the number of tariff adjustments authorized in 2026 reaches 14 distributors, affecting more than 40 million consumer units throughout the country.
The first increases of the year occurred in January, with particular emphasis on... Roraima Energy, which recorded an average readjustment of 24,13%. In March, two distributors from Rio de Janeiro (Enel Rio e Light) also had revisions approved, with rates of 15,60% and 8,59%, respectively.
Already in April, there was a greater concentration of price adjustments, including concessionaires such as CPFL Paulista (12,13%), CPFL Santa Cruz (15,12%) and Energisa Mato Grosso do Sul (12,11%), all with increases above double digits.
In addition to these, other distributors also had their price adjustments authorized, albeit with more moderate percentages, such as... Energisa Mato Grosso e Energisa Sergipe (both at 6,86%), Neoenergia Coelba (5,85%), Enel Ceara (5,78%) and Neoenergia Cosern (5,40%) and CEA Equatorial (3,54%).
