A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved this Tuesday (21) the loan contracts for Conta-Covid, an operation created to reduce the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on electricity bills and inject liquidity into companies in the electricity sector.
In total, 16 banks will participate in the pool – a temporary agreement between companies to execute a certain project – which will finance the distributors, totaling R$15,292 billion, of which R$14,8 billion will be released in seven installments until December 2020.
The first disbursement is scheduled for the 31st of this month and will be R$11,8 billion.
The cost of the operation will be CDI (Interbank Deposit Certificate) + 3,79%, equivalent to IPCA (Broad Consumer Price Index) + 4,94% per year.
The grace period lasts until June 15, 2021. Amortization will be made in 54 installments, the first on July 15, 2021 and the last on December 15, 2025.

The largest holdings are held by Bradesco BBI and Itaú BBA, each with R$2,9 billion, equivalent to an 18,96% stake. Next come BNDES, with R$2,653 billion (17,35%), Santander, with R$2,217 billion (14,50%), and Banco do Brasil, with R$1,8 billion (11,77%) .
The remainder will be divided between Credit Suisse, Citibank, Safra, SMBC, Votorantim, Alfa, JP Morgan, Bocom BBM, CCB, BTG and ABC Brasil. The operation will be managed by Bradesco, which will control and operationalize the financial flow of resources.
Covid-Account contracts are signed
The CCEE (Electric Energy Trading Chamber) signed this Wednesday (22) the contracts relating to Covid-Account loans.
