A solar energy reached, this Wednesday (19), the mark of 14 GW of installed power in systems distributed micro and minigeneration No. Brazil, according to information obtained by the Canal Solar, based on data from the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

This is of a volume that represents exactly the double the power accumulated in the country compared to the same period last year, when the segment, until then, had just hit the 7 GW mark, in October 2021.

Currently, Brazil counts to over 1,34 million photovoltaic systems connected to the distribution network, which together bring savings and environmental sustainability to more than 1,71 million consumer units.

A most representative class is residential, with 6,7 GW, followed by commercial (4,1 GW), rural (1,9 GW) and industrial (948 MW). In total, the source is already present in more than 98,9% of Brazilian municipalities (5.509 of the 5.570) and in all states in the country.

Only in 2022, were little more than 491,6 thousand connections generated and about 4,68 GW of installed power, configuring the best year in the history of the sector – surpassing the numbers from the entire last year, which had 442,8 thousand systems installed and 4,41 GW of power.

Investments and jobs

In the last ten years, solar energy accounted for more R$ 104,3 billion in new investments and more than 607 thousand jobs created in all regions of Brazil, according to the ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association).

In October 2021, the country had R$52,4 billion in investments and 300 thousand jobs created by the source until October 2021, which This means that the numbers practically doubled in just one year.
