CPFL Energia is currently accepting applications for a public call for proposals to attract innovative projects focused on new technologies that solve operational challenges in the electricity sector.
The initiative foresees investments using resources from the R&D (Research, Development and Innovation) program, and the deadline for submitting proposals is February 8th for the theme "New Technologies and Applications of Energy Storage".
According to the company, the edict It does not establish a budget ceiling for the selected projects. Even so, the analysis of the proposals will consider the criterion of cost reasonableness, which assesses the coherence of the projected expenses, the technical adequacy of the solutions, and the economic viability of the investments throughout the project cycle.
The call for proposals is open to public and private institutions, individually or in consortia. Startups, universities, research centers, technology-based companies, incubators, equipment and materials manufacturers, and specialized consultancies are eligible to apply.
According to the guidelines of the Research, Development and Innovation Program of ANEEL (PEQuI), the public call is primarily directed to the North, Northeast, and Central-West regions. Consortia with institutions from other regions are also eligible, provided that at least 50% of the resources allocated to the project partners are applied to organizations based in those locations.
In addition to projects focused on energy storage, CPFL's Multi-Theme Public Call is also accepting proposals until February 27th related to "Review of the useful life methodology of assets in the electricity sector", "Optimization and intelligent response in the operation of the transmission system" and "Applications and data management of smart meters".
For Rafael Moya, Innovation Manager at CPFL Energia, the initiative is one of the main pillars of the company's open innovation strategy.
"By connecting day-to-day operational challenges to technological solutions developed by startups, universities, and research centers, we expand our capacity to accelerate the transformation of the electricity sector," he states.
