Cemig SIM, a Cemig Group company that operates in the subscription solar energy market, opened a tender for the construction of 23 solar plants in 13 municipalities in the state.

The electronic auction aims to hire a “Full EPC” (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) supplier to carry out projects and works.

According to Cemig SIM, four lots of photovoltaic plants will be offered, individually, and a fifth final lot comprising the 23 plants, which could be the winner of the entire bid, if the total price is lower than the price of the sum of the four lots individually. .

Also according to the company, the entire process, which goes from publishing the notice, carrying out the electronic auction and approval, is scheduled to take place between December of this year and February 2023. The electronic auction will be held at Cemig's purchasing and bidding portal.

The 23 solar plants will be built in eight regions of Minas Gerais:

  • Alto Paranaíba/Triângulo Mineiro: Patrocínio, Monte Carmelo and Serra do Salitre;
  • West: Pains;
  • South: Passos, Boa Esperança, Borda da Mata and São Gonçalo do Sapucaí;
  • Central: Jequitibá;
  • Jequitinhonha: Diamantina;
  • Midwest: São Gonçalo do Pará;
  • Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region: Caeté, e;
  • Campo das Vertentes: Alfredo Vasconcelos.

With this tender, Cemig SIM advances its strategic investment plan of around R$1 billion by 2025, totaling 275 MWp of installed power.

“Cemig SIM’s expansion has been occurring in a structured and strategic way. We continue to fulfill our planning and growth goals, anchored in the objective of democratizing energy for an increasing number of consumers”, highlighted Danilo Gusmão, president of Cemig SIM.

João Paulo Campos, Business Director at Cemig SIM, highlights that the company's focus is to achieve a 30% share of the Minas Gerais DG (distributed generation) market in three years.

“This package, in addition to confirming our expansion, will result in an increase in energy supply, expanding the population’s reach of a 100% clean and renewable source. We operate in a segment that is growing progressively and the expansion of our assets strengthens the energy transition process of the Brazilian matrix”, he states.
