Eight states will still have electricity bill adjustments by the end of April.

Three states have already seen increases in 2026; the first four months are expected to close with increases in 11 states.

Brazilian consumers' wallets will continue to be squeezed by energy costs in the first four months of 2026.  A survey of the Canal Solar, based on the tariff processes of ANEELData shows that three states have already registered an increase in electricity bills since the beginning of the year.

However, the situation is likely to intensify in the coming weeks. This is because seven other states have scheduled price adjustments until April 29th, increasing the impact on energy tariffs in different regions of the country.

Increases already approved

The cycle of adjustments to electricity bills in 2026 began on January 25th, when the Roraima Energia It recorded the largest increase of the year so far. The average effect was 24,13%, with an impact of 22,69% for residential consumers. 

In March, it was Rio de Janeiro's turn, where consumers started paying more after the approval of a 15,46% price increase. Enel RJ and 8,59% for the Light. 

In Amapá, the CEA Equatorial There was an average adjustment of 3,54%, starting on March 26th. The case drew attention because it was approved late, relating to the 2025 tariff cycle.

Adjustments expected at the end of April.

For consumers in the Northeast and Southeast regions, the last week of April will be marked by new tariff adjustments in eight states, some of which are still in the final stages of approval by [the relevant authority]. ANEEL.

In São Paulo, the readjustment of CPFL PaulistaThe announcement, initially scheduled for April 8th, has been temporarily suspended for reassessment of tariff calculations. The sector expects the index to be around 12,5%, with publication still expected this month.

A similar situation occurred in the Midwest. The adjustments of Energisa Mato Grosso and the Energisa Mato Grosso do Sul They were also postponed after a technical review and are awaiting a new decision from the agency, with a decision expected on April 22.

In the Northeast, the schedule remains unchanged. The distributors Neoenergia Coelba (Bahia), Neoenergia Cosern (Rio Grande do Norte), Enel-CE (Ceará) and Energisa-SE (Sergipe) should have adjustments applied on April 22nd. As for Neoenergia Pernambuco (Pernambuco) is expected to implement the new index on April 29.
