A hotel located in Chapecó (SC) found in Bold Energy's energy storage solutions an alternative to expand its energy capacity without having to invest in expanding the property's electrical substation.
The hotel utilizes hybrid inverter and battery technology, integrated with solar power generation, to ensure greater operational stability, reduce costs, and avoid interruptions during periods of high occupancy and events.
The implemented solution combines 170 kWp of photovoltaic modules from JA Solar, 90 kW of hybrid inverters, and 12 5,8 kWh batteries from Solax, totaling approximately 70 kWh of storage capacity.
According to Daniel Sabadin, the hotel's owner, the growth in the property's energy demand required a solution capable of meeting peak consumption without the need for complex electrical infrastructure work.
According to the businessman, the conventional alternative would involve a complete restructuring of the hotel's incoming substation, including replacing transformers, installing new circuit breakers, upgrading substation equipment and cabling, and making adjustments with the power utility.
Given this scenario, the project opted for a hybrid system with battery storage, allowing for a faster and more efficient increase in energy availability. In other words, the system was designed to increase the hotel's available power capacity without requiring an increase in demand from the utility company.
Jonathan Behren, engineering manager at Bold Energy, explains that the battery pack provides between 35 kW and 48 kW of additional power, complementing the existing substation's capacity of 112,5 kVA.
In this way, the hotel began to record monthly savings of approximately R$18.000,00 on energy, in addition to avoiding fixed costs that would be related to a possible increase in contracted demand, if the hybrid system were not implemented.
This savings was made possible thanks to the photovoltaic system implemented in conjunction with the battery system, which significantly reduced energy purchases from the distributor and provided greater autonomy for the hotel's energy management.
Another impact observed by the project was the reduction in dependence on the diesel generator. After the installation of the storage system, the equipment ceased to be used in the hotel's daily operation, remaining only as a contingency in critical situations of prolonged power grid failure.
Bold Energy also relied on the team from Projeal Engenharia, a strategic partner of Bold in the execution of battery storage system projects.
