The photovoltaic market is undergoing a transformation, with demand for storage systems advancing rapidly in various regions of the country.
A study released by Solfácil shows that the number of solar energy projects with batteries has grown by more than 400% in the last two years in Brazil. During the same period, demand for hybrid systems also registered strong growth, with an increase of 250%.
The survey was presented this Monday (27), during the Solfácil Summit – a technical event held by the company in Fortaleza (CE), which brought together integrators and specialists to discuss hybrid solutions and solar energy systems with batteries.
According to Eduardo Neuberg, COO of Solfácil, the advancement of energy storage is occurring within a context of falling prices, which has made hybrid and battery-powered systems more accessible and reduced one of the main barriers to market entry.
According to the executive, these technologies are about 30% cheaper compared to recent years. "But price alone doesn't explain this progress," he says.
“What we see in practice is a change in the demand profile: consumers of hybrid systems seek, above all, reliability and energy autonomy, especially in regions with greater grid instability, and not just savings on their electricity bill,” he emphasizes.
Neuberg also highlights other relevant factors, such as market capacity building and the maturation of the production chain. "This has contributed to the development of a more qualified ecosystem, capable of offering higher value-added solutions, with less price pressure and more focus on the technical proposal," he points out.
According to him, batteries and hybrid systems are already on a clear acceleration curve. "This indicates significant potential for expansion in the coming years," he adds.
Northeast
Because it was presented in Fortaleza (CE), the study also included specific data from the Northeast market. One of the main highlights is the improvement in access to credit.
Mapping shows that the number of financed photovoltaic systems in the region grew by 85% between 2023 and 2025, driven mainly by reduced costs.
During this period, the average project value decreased by approximately 34%, expanding access to technology. States such as Bahia and Pernambuco registered drops exceeding 35% in the average amount financed.
In Alagoas, Ceará, Paraíba, Maranhão, and Sergipe, the declines were above 30%. Even in states with smaller variations, such as Piauí and Rio Grande do Norte, the reduction exceeded 20%.
The survey also shows that the Northeastern market remains heavily concentrated in the residential segment, responsible for approximately 91,9% of the systems installed in 2025.
The commercial segment, in turn, represents just over 8%, indicating significant room for expansion in the coming years, especially with the advancement of battery-based solutions.
