TotalEnergies has informed the market that it has completed the sale of approximately 170 MW of distributed solar generation assets in seven European countries: France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Luxembourg.
The projects, consisting mainly of photovoltaic systems installed on rooftops, have come under the control of the companies Amarenco and AMPYR Distributed Energy.
With this transaction, the company ends its operations in the distributed generation segment in these markets and reinforces its strategy of concentrating investments in large solar and wind farms.
According to the company, the divestment does not alter its goal of exceeding 75 GW of gross installed capacity in renewable sources by 2030. At the end of April 2026, TotalEnergies reported having almost 36 GW of installed capacity.
In addition to expanding capacity, the company maintains its goal of exceeding 100 TWh of net electricity generation by the end of the decade, expanding its presence in the global electricity market.
The strategy follows a trend observed among large international groups in the sector, which have been prioritizing large-scale solar and wind projects over smaller assets, seeking economies of scale, greater operational efficiency, and better financial returns.
Although renewable sources remain at the heart of its growth plan, TotalEnergies states that it will continue to strengthen its presence in other electricity generation technologies to diversify its portfolio.
