AGU implements solar energy in two more units
Panels installed at AGU, in João Pessoa

A AGU (General Attorney's Office of the Union), which pioneered the installation of solar energy in the public sector with the implementation of the plant in Brasília, will implement two new units. The projects will be located in João Pessoa (PB) and Aracaju (SE).

A plant of the Federal Prosecutor's Office in Paraíba, in João Pessoa, went into operation on June 14th with 150 solar panels. The system is expected to generate between 10 and 14 MWh monthly, and it is expected that the annual production is around 146,88 MWh.

O production surplus power will be used by other AGU units in João Pessoa, by the Federal Legal Consultancy and the Federal Attorney's Office. The units expect the monthly reduction to be between R$2 and R$4 in electricity bills.

The body did the investment of R$197 thousand in the installation of the plant and expects the return to happen in three years.

O photovoltaic system da Sergipe Union Attorney's Office it's composed by 86 solar panels, that must be generated monthly between 5 to 7,8 MWh. Annual net production will be around 55,4 MWh, engineers at SAD5R (Superintendency of Administration of the 5th Region) estimate.

Currently, the monthly electricity consumption of the Sergipe Attorney's Office revolves around R $ 4,2 thousand. After system operation, the invoice may be reduced to R$300, which represents a saving of R$3,9 per month.

O AGU's investment was R$143,5 thousand in the photovoltaic system, and the agency hopes to recover the investment in two years.

“But the value of these initiatives goes far beyond financial savings. The most important thing is investment in renewable energy sources that use non-exhaustible natural resources”, highlights Lúcia Carvalho, superintendent of Administration at AGU in the 5th Region, in a note.
