O Brazil counts today with 1,25 million solar energy systems in operation in segment of GD (distributed generation), of which more than 99,2% (1,24 million) come from projects microgeneration, according to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
These are systems that benefit directly the consumption classes with lower generation, that is, the which have a power of up to 75 kW.
Of the 5.57 thousand Brazilian municipalities, more than 5,3 thousand already have photovoltaic microgeneration systems, which demonstrates the and growing and the spraying that smaller projects has been winning in Brazil over the last few years.
The majority of these systems are installed in homes (991,1 thousand), followed by commercial establishments (140,2 thousand) and rural establishments (94,8 thousand). The remainder comes from industry and public sector sectors, totaling just over 22,4 units.
Microgeneration by region
Still according to the numbers from ANEEL, microgeneration of solar energy is currently present in all Brazilian states, including the Federal District, with emphasis on the Southeast (478,6 thousand systems), South (269,3) and Northeast (236,9 thousand) regions.
The three federative units together account for around 80% of the total number of microgeneration systems. Next, the Central-West and North regions appear, with 169,9 thousand and 74,1 thousand units, respectively.
