A ANEEL The Brazilian National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) approved the annual tariff adjustment for Sulgipe (Companhia Sul Sergipana de Eletricidade), with an average increase of 12,87% in the electricity bill for consumers served by the distributor.
Based in Estância (SE), the concessionaire serves approximately 177 consumer units distributed across 12 municipalities in Sergipe and two in Bahia. The new values came into effect last Friday (22).
According to the Agency, the main factors that pressured the readjustment were the increase in sector charges, costs related to energy transportation, and financial components of the electricity sector.
With the new authorization, the number of distributors that have had tariff adjustments approved rises to 15. ANEEL in 2026, affecting approximately 40 million consumer units in different regions of the country.
ESS is expected to be the next distributor to have its price adjustment confirmed.
In the coming days, the ANEEL It must also confirm the adjustment in the electricity bill from ESS (Energisa Sul Sudeste), the concessionaire responsible for supplying energy to approximately 893 consumer units in 82 municipalities in the states of São Paulo, Paraná, and Minas Gerais.
Last Friday (22), the Agency held a public hearing to present the tariff proposal and hear comments from consumers and agents in the sector. The suggested percentage foresees an average increase of 7,23% in the distributor's tariffs starting on July 12.
Adjustments exceed inflation in several regions.
The adjustments authorized by ANEEL In 2026, prices will remain above the accumulated official inflation rate for most distributors, putting pressure on the cost of electricity for residential, commercial, and industrial consumers.
Below is a list of distributors that have already had price adjustments approved this year, from the highest to the lowest authorized increase:
- Roraima Energia: 24,13%;
- CPFL Santa Cruz: 18,89%;
- Enel Rio: 15,6%;
- Sulgipe: 12,87%;
- CPFL Paulista: 12,13%;
- Energisa Mato Grosso do Sul: 12,1%;
- Light: 8,6%;
- Energisa Mato Grosso: 6,86%;
- Energisa Sergipe: 6,86%;
- Amazonas Energia: 6,58%;
- Coelba: 5,8%;
- Enel Ceará: 5,78%;
- Neoenergia Cosern: 5,4%;
- Neoenergia Pernambuco: 4,25%
- CEA Equatorial: 3,54%.
