Atlas Renewable Energy sold five large-scale solar plants to ENGIE Brasil for R$3,5 billion.
According to Atlas, the deal is part of its asset rotation strategy and will therefore seek to reinvest capital in the development of new renewable energy projects in the country.
The parks involved in the deal are Juazeiro, São Pedro, Sol do Futuro, Sertão Solar and Lar do Sol, which together total 545 MW of installed capacity, located in the states of Bahia, Ceará and Minas Gerais.
Atlas informed in a statement that it will maintain a portfolio of more than 1,8 GW of installed capacity in Brazil, which includes two photovoltaic parks under construction in the state of Minas Gerais, including the largest solar plant in Latin America, and two other projects already in operation.
Furthermore, the company has a portfolio of more than 15 GW of sustainable energy under development in Brazil, including solar and wind, in different phases.

The operation, however, is still subject to analysis by the competent bodies, including approval by CADE (Administrative Council for Economic Defense).
