Transmission auctions play an important role in the expansion and modernization of the Brazilian electrical system. It is through these auctions that the government contracts companies responsible for the construction, operation, and maintenance of transmission lines and substations.

These auctions, therefore, guarantee the necessary infrastructure to transport the generated energy to consumer centers. Furthermore, they attract private investment, generate jobs, and contribute to expanding the capacity for energy distribution in different regions of the country.
