BYD announced this Tuesday (4), during the launch of the Song Pro Flex, that buyers of the company's new vehicle will be able to purchase a residential solar energy kit with installation included.
The system will be sold for R$ 18.438,00 cash or financed in 36 installments of R$ 512,00 without interest through Banco Santander. The system includes photovoltaic modules produced by BYD itself in Brazil.
This initiative is part of the Chinese automaker's strategy to integrate electrified mobility and distributed generation (DG), allowing owners of hybrid and electric vehicles to use energy produced in their own homes to power their cars and reduce electricity costs.
“It’s only R$ 512,00 per month, including installation. In equivalent terms, that’s less than two tanks of fuel for you to have clean and cheap energy to power your home and your car,” highlighted Henrique Antunes, Sales Director of Pickups and Utility Vehicles at BYD Brazil.
During the presentation of the new vehicle, the company also highlighted its operations in the energy sector. In addition to manufacturing electrified vehicles and buses, BYD has also been producing photovoltaic modules in the country for over ten years.
