Brazil and the Republic of Korea signed a memorandum of understanding this week to strengthen collaboration between the two countries in the renewable energy sector.
The signing ceremony was held at the Alvorada Palace and was attended by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung.
The actions outlined in the document are in areas such as energy transitionRenewable energies, energy efficiency, smart grids, research, development, technical training and exchange of experts.
According to MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy)The agreement also seeks to encourage the exchange of scientific, technical, and regulatory information, as well as the development of pilot projects and joint action in international forums focused on the energy sector.
With an initial term of five years and automatic renewal, the partnership seeks to continue the collaboration established between the two countries during President Lula's visit to South Korea in February of this year.
