the telephone company Clear announced the energization of one more solar power plant in Brazil. The new plant has installed capacity of 5,3 MW in Pará.

Installation in the mode of remote self-consumption was delivered in partnership with GDSUN and is part of “Energia da Claro” project, which focuses on self-production of renewable energy.

Currently, from 90 plants that are part of the operator's initiative, 12 solar source units are operated by GDSUN in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Bahia and, now, Pará.

Since the beginning of the program from Claro, in 2017, the emission of more than 500 thousand tons of CO2 has already been avoided In the atmosphere. “Claro is committed to meeting environmental goals through projects that directly reduce its emissions,” said Hamilton Silva, the operator’s Infrastructure director.

The movement of large companies towards decarbonization has been a trend in the market. Last week, the TIM announced that it had surpassed the mark of 100 renewable energy plants installed in the form of GD (distributed generation).

According to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), Brazil surpassed, this month, the mark of 36 GW of capacity installed by solar sources in Brazil, adding distributed and centralized generation plants. The result is equivalent to more than 16% of the installed capacity of the country's electrical matrix.
