Senator and presidential pre-candidate Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) stated this Tuesday (21) that, if elected, he intends to reorganize the legislation related to the energy sector and expand incentives for clean sources, without giving up the exploration of fossil fuels.
“We will organize all this legislation dealing with energy and ensure that all types of energy, especially clean energy, are further enhanced here in Brazil, but we will also not give up on the exploration of fossil fuels,” he declared during a meeting with foreign ambassadors organized by the Novo Selo Comunicação agency and the website The Brazilian Report, in Brasília (DF).
During the meeting, the congressman also advocated for greater legal certainty and more flexible environmental licensing as measures to stimulate investment in the country. Another topic discussed was the expansion of data centers.
Flávio advocated for modernizing legislation to create more favorable conditions for the establishment of these ventures in Brazil, a sector that has been gaining relevance in light of advances in AI (artificial intelligence) and the increased demand for digital infrastructure and energy.
The senator also stated that, in a potential government, he intends to resume efforts for Brazil to join the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), a group formed mainly by developed economies.
According to Flávio Bolsonaro, the goal of the measure is to make the country "improve its investment grade, provide more security, and be more attractive for international investments," he explained.
