O MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) has extended the deadline for the public call for the selection of low-carbon hydrogen projects aimed at decarbonizing Brazilian industry. Initially scheduled to end on November 2, the deadline has been extended to November 9.
The selected projects will be able to compete for a portion of the resources from Climate Investment Funds – Industry Decarbonization (CIF-ID), with an estimated total value between US$ 125 million and US$ 250 million.
This support may cover engineering expenses, working capital, acquisition of machinery and equipment, as well as other costs involved in structuring the projects.
Projects that use hydrogen produced from biomass, ethanol, biomethane, natural gas with CCS (carbon capture and storage), among other methods, will be considered eligible, in addition to projects that use hydrogen as an input for steel, cement, fertilizer, cellulose, glass industries, among others.
To obtain access to funding, projects must be in operation by the end of 2035. Institutions that have already submitted proposals and wish to make changes simply need to submit a new proposal, which will be considered the latest version. Click here to access the proposal submission page.
