Monitoring system prevents copper theft at solar power plant; three men arrested.

Police operation recovered over a thousand meters of cables after an alert from the power plant indicated an intrusion at the site.

Um sistema de monitoramento instalado em uma usina de energia solar foi fundamental para impedir o furto de cabos e levar à prisão em flagrante de três homens na noite de segunda-feira (27), no interior de São Paulo.

A ocorrência foi registrada na estrada municipal que liga os municípios de Tanabi a Bálsamo. Mais de mil metros de fios de cobre, avaliados em cerca de R$ 10 mil, foram recuperados durante a ação.

Segundo a Polícia Militar, equipes do 52º Batalhão do Interior foram acionadas após o sistema de monitoramento da usina identificar uma invasão no local. Com o alerta, os policiais montaram um cerco na região e intensificaram o patrulhamento nas vias próximas.

Durante o deslocamento, os agentes interceptaram um veículo que trafegava em uma estrada de terra no contrafluxo. Ao perceber a aproximação policial, um dos ocupantes desceu do carro e fugiu a pé para um canavial.

Os outros três homens que permaneceram no veículo foram abordados e detidos. No interior do carro, os policiais encontraram cerca de mil metros de fios de cobre, três alicates de grande porte (possivelmente utilizados no corte da fiação) e dois aparelhos celulares.

Os detidos foram encaminhados à Delegacia de Polícia de Mirassol (SP), onde o delegado de plantão ratificou a prisão em flagrante por furto qualificado. O caso segue sob investigação para identificar e localizar o suspeito que fugiu, além de apurar a possível participação de outros envolvidos.
