Solar modules on the roof of a chemical industry provide monthly savings of 37%

In addition to generating significant savings, contributing financially to the company’s longevity

For those looking to save on their electricity bills, solar panels are one of the best alternatives. The investment made to install solar energy panels ends up being paid for by the money saved by reducing electricity costs.

With this in mind, Maza Tintas, a chemical company that manufactures paints and solvents, located in Mococa-SP, installed solar panels on its roof. Since January 2019, when it adopted the system, until March of this year, the company saved more than R$450 on its electricity bill.

According to MySol, the company responsible for installing the project, the solar panels are bringing great benefits to Maza.

“In addition to generating significant savings, contributing financially to the company's longevity, the project places Maza in a group of industries that invest in photovoltaic energy, becoming an example to be followed in the region. It is the pioneer in this project and reaps its rewards in the field of sustainability”, commented Elvis Almeida, commercial director at MySol.

With solar and without solar

MySol drew a comparison of when Maza Tintas started using solar panels.

The number of photovoltaic modules installed has provided monthly savings of 37% for the company. With these savings, the investment made in acquiring the solar plant will soon be fully recovered.

Power generation

MySol also released a spreadsheet that shows how much solar energy was generated in each month of the year, from 2019 to today. Below is the graph:

Maza Project

Maza Tintas carried out a feasibility study at the beginning of 2018. Several researches were carried out and, then, in October they decided to execute the project.

MySol worked on the construction of the plant in partnership with engineer Bruno Kikumoto, director of Canal Solar. According to the company, around R$2 million was invested.

“We completed the installation in three months, a record time. Therefore, the system began operating in January 2019”, explained Elvis Almeida, commercial director at MySol.

According to Anderson Maziero, general director of Maza Tintas, the objective with installing solar panels, in addition to bringing savings to the industry, was to develop sustainable processes.

“Based on the set of factors analyzed such as cost, reliability and experience in the sector, we understand that it was a very relevant investment. We could not be being advised by a company in which we did not have the necessary confidence to implement this system”, stated Maziero.

In total, 1.560 panels are installed on the roof, with 325 W BYD modules and 27 kW Fronius inverters.

“It was an important project because, in addition to being one of the largest rooftop solar plants in the State of São Paulo, it shows the viability of these projects in the industrial scope. Maza is a large industry, nationally recognized, that made the decision to make this investment and, consequently, is already seeing the return happening in a short space of time”, concluded Bruno Kikumoto, director of Canal Solar.
