Mercurio Partners announced the purchase of 208 generators to equip two winning projects of the LRCAP (2026 Capacity Reserve Auction). The equipment, with a unit capacity of 1,3 MW, will be supplied by the Spanish company Guascor Energy.
The contract was closed for €100 million, equivalent to approximately R$590 million. The acquisition is part of Mercurio's expansion plan in the Brazilian electricity sector, which foresees investments of R$1,4 billion in the construction of the Pilar thermal power plant in Alagoas.
With an installed capacity of 250 MW, the thermal power plant is expected to begin operation in 2028. The company anticipates generating approximately one thousand jobs during the construction phase of the project.
In addition to the Alagoas project, Mercurio will allocate R$ 15 million to the 23,4 MW Paulínia Verde thermal power plant, located in the interior of São Paulo. The combination of the two assets allows the company to reconcile a project under development with an existing power plant.
According to Mercurio, the strategy seeks to generate cash in the short term through operational assets and, at the same time, sustain growth in the medium term with the implementation of a greenfield project, that is, one built from scratch.
The group is also expanding its presence in the free market.
Mercurio's activities are not limited to power generation. The company also owns TYR Energia, the group's energytech arm, which operates in... Free market.
Recently, TYR acquired GreenAnt for R$10 million. The company develops intelligent consumption monitoring and energy efficiency solutions using artificial intelligence.
With this acquisition, the group will combine investments in thermoelectric power generation, energy trading, and technology applied to consumption management. This strategy expands its presence in different stages of the market, from production to monitoring energy use by consumers.
