EPE publishes instructions for registering batteries in the LRCAP system.

A EPE (Empresa de Pesquisa Energética) publicou as instruções de cadastramento para os empreendimentos que desejam participar do LRCAP (Leilão de Reserva de Capacidade na forma de Potência) 2026 – Armazenamento de Energia em Baterias.

O período para cadastramento dos projetos já está aberto e permanecerá disponível até 30 de julho, conforme cronograma estabelecido pela EPE.

O documento apresenta os requisitos técnicos, operacionais e documentais necessários para a habilitação dos projetos, incluindo orientações específicas para os produtos de armazenamento nacional e armazenamento geral previstos na Portaria Normativa MME nº 136/2026.

O que é o LRCAP de baterias?

O LRCAP 2026 para sistemas de armazenamento em baterias tem como principal objetivo aumentar a flexibilidade e a segurança do sistema elétrico brasileiro. A proposta é contratar empreendimentos capazes de armazenar energia em momentos de menor demanda e devolvê-la à rede nos períodos de maior consumo ou necessidade operativa.

O tema ganhou força nos últimos anos com o avanço acelerado das fontes renováveis variáveis, especialmente a solar e a eólica. Em determinados períodos do dia, a geração dessas fontes pode superar a demanda, enquanto em outros momentos o sistema precisa de recursos capazes de responder rapidamente para garantir o equilíbrio entre oferta e consumo.

A realização de um leilão dedicado ao armazenamento vinha sendo discutida pelo setor há vários anos e foi consolidada neste ano pelo MME (Ministério de Minas e Energia). A expectativa é que os projetos contratados contribuam para reduzir restrições operativas, aumentar a confiabilidade do SIN (Sistema Interligado Nacional) e apoiar a integração de volumes cada vez maiores de energia renovável à matriz elétrica brasileira.

Além de representar um marco regulatório para o segmento, o certame é visto pelo mercado como um passo importante para a criação de uma indústria nacional de armazenamento de energia e para o desenvolvimento de novos modelos de negócios ligados às baterias no país.
