A power outage affected part of the passenger terminal at Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas (SP), in the early hours of Tuesday (22). The problem caused queues and delays in flights during the morning.
According to Aeroportos Brasil Viracopos, the company responsible for managing the airport, the outage began around 3:10 AM and affected one of the substations supplying the check-in area. Maintenance teams were dispatched to restore the affected systems.
The incident disrupted the operation of passenger facilities and slowed down boarding. The aircraft apron, runway, and access roads to the airport were not affected.
The concessionaire also reported that, around 7:30 am, operations were in the process of returning to normal and advised passengers with scheduled trips for the morning to check with their airlines before heading to the terminal.
The problem originated within the airport.
CPFL Paulista reported that the electrical system responsible for supplying Viracopos Airport was operating normally. According to the distributor, there were no reports of faults in the external electrical network nor any requests for service at the site.
According to CPFL, the incident originated within the airport's internal facilities and is therefore the responsibility of the customer.

According to data consulted at 15 pm this Tuesday (22) on the flight monitoring radar, Viracopos had, until then, registered 38 cancelled flights and 111 delayed flights. However, there is no confirmation that all these occurrences are related to the power outage.
The numbers may change throughout the day as airlines update their schedules and airport operations return to normal.
