O Brazil started to count, this Tuesday (1st), with another entity focused on the development of sources of renewable energy. It is about ABHIC (Brazilian Association of Hydrogen and Sustainable Fuels).

The entity is born with target of (as its name suggests) foster os hydrogen and sustainable fuels sectors in the country, contributing to the regulation and structuring of the market.

Sérgio Augusto Costa, founder and president of ABHIC, highlights that due to the high demand for green hydrogen across Europe, especially in Germany, Brazil has potential huge to become a major producer of the input and become one of the leaders in providing this commodity.

According to the executive, the country will have competitive advantages that put it ahead of other nations. “ABHIC’s scope of action consists of seeking to represent sectoral interests with public authorities, including bodies of the Executive and Legislative Powers and regulatory agencies, national and international companies and academia”, said Augusto Costa.

The entity also promises to bring the main global market practices to Brazil. “We cannot only focus on green hydrogen, we also have to work with companies that use other fuels, including those of fossil origin and are committed to adapting to the use of sustainable fuels. This is an essential part of the energy transition”, highlights the president of ABHIC.
