BYD Brasil, an international module manufacturer with production in Campinas, revealed to the market its new line of products developed 100% in the national territory. The modules, which use high-efficiency bifacial monocrystalline cells, are now available on the market with power ranging from 365 Wp to 385 Wp (MBK-PTYPE-SÉRIE-5BB family). The cells used in the module have record efficiency for a national product, reaching 22%. The module is built with bifaciality technology: the cells can capture solar energy on both sides, so the module can reach up to 481 Wp of power for highly reflective soils.

Bifacial module technology can bring a significant gain in generation, by absorbing light from both sides, and in cost, as it can reduce the number of modules needed to achieve the same power. To learn more about this technology, visit our article: Understand bifacial solar modules.

Regarding the module's technology, the director of marketing, sustainability and new business, Adalberto Maluf, highlighted: “This is a very versatile module, which meets and adapts to Brazilian demand. It uses quality raw materials and combines price and versatility, and can be advantageous in the assembly of large plants […] the 25-year guarantee of linear performance guarantees its durability and cell efficiency of 22%”.

With this launch, the company, which already has more than 1 GWp and more than ⅓ of the national module market, appears to be following major global trends in the photovoltaic market: high-efficiency, bifacial monocrystalline cells.
