Forum discusses the importance of standardization in the PV sector

Latin American Energy Organization promoted an event that discussed the role of standards in the energy transition

A OLADE (Latin American Energy Organization) promoted, this Monday (07), the Latin American Forum on Solar and Energy Storage Regulations.

The event, held in Bogotá, Colombia, discussed standards in the clean energy transition and included the participation of LESF (Unicamp Energy and Photovoltaic Systems Laboratory).

“For the energy transition to happen, it was mentioned that countries must have or develop a functional infrastructure that promotes a safe and quality transition through standards and regulations that meet LATAM countries”, said Geyciane Pinheiro, researcher at LESF.

According to her, one of the presentations addressed the importance of standardization, as it promotes competition in markets, encourages international trade, provides interoperability between products, supports technological innovations and creates greater awareness.

Still according to Geyciane, this work can be carried out on a large scale with the contribution of professional entities, industries, universities and government agencies

“The OLADE forum was just the beginning of the integration between LATAM countries for the energy transition process through innovative, technological and safe standards and regulations that generate benefits for society”, he added.
