Fox ESS announces the launch of G-MAX PLUS, an energy storage system developed to simplify projects and expand the possibilities of energy use in commercial and industrial (C&I) applications.

Designed to meet the practical demands of the Brazilian market, the G-MAX PLUS stands out for integrating photovoltaic technology directly into a BESS (Build-Energy System). In practice, this means bringing together photovoltaic generation, energy storage, management, and integration with critical loads and generators in a single product, reducing steps, interfaces, and complexity in projects.

With a nominal power of 125 kW and a nominal energy of 241 kWh, the G-MAX PLUS adopts the All-in-One concept, concentrating the hybrid inverter (PCS), batteries, thermal management system, and safety features in a single unit.

According to the company, this architecture was designed to facilitate the work of those who design, install, and operate storage systems, while differentiating itself from traditional solutions based on alternating current (AC) coupling, which typically require multiple pieces of equipment and external connections.

In conventional AC-coupled systems, it is common to need additional inverters, external connection panels, backup boxes, and a greater number of cables and interfaces. In the G-MAX PLUS, all these elements are integrated into a single cabinet, which contributes to faster installation, lower technical risk, and more efficient operation throughout the system's entire lifecycle.

Technical specifications and photovoltaic integration

The G-MAX PLUS uses LFP (LiFePO₄) batteries, with 100% depth of discharge (DoD) and a lifespan of up to 8.000 cycles at 70% EOL. The system also features 128 temperature sensors, allowing for precise and continuous thermal monitoring of the cells.

The voltage range of the batteries varies between 672 and 876 V, while the nominal alternating current voltage is 380 V three-phase.

For integration with photovoltaic systems, the equipment has 8 MPPTsSupporting a maximum current of 40 A, this allows for a maximum PV power of up to 250 kWp, considering a 100% overload. The system also offers a peak output power of up to 155 kVA for 10 seconds, available when the state of load (SOC) is above 50%, expanding the capacity to meet peak demand.

The switching time is less than 10 ms, ensuring a fast response in source transition situations, and the system has an IP55 protection rating, suitable for outdoor applications.

Energy applications and strategies

The flexibility of G-MAX PLUS allows its application in different energy strategies, such as:

  • Self-consumption with storage (BESS + PV)
  • Peak Shaving, with reduced demand
  • Time shifting, especially during peak hours.
  • Hybrid PV + Storage Systems
  • Integration with diesel generators
  • Microgrids and isolated (off-grid) systems
  • Critical workload backup
  • Zero Grid Strategies

The system incorporates liquid cooling, ensuring a maximum temperature difference of less than 2°C between the cells, which contributes to greater stability and battery life. In addition, the G-MAX PLUS features multiple safety features, such as temperature and smoke sensors, a gas detector, a fire alarm, an aerosol fire extinguisher, and a dehumidification system.

With the launch of G-MAX PLUS, Fox ESS reinforces its presence in the energy storage segment for commercial and industrial applications, offering the market an integrated solution that seeks to simplify projects, increase system reliability, and support the evolution of intelligent energy management.
