As announced by Canal Solar in January This year, Fronius launched two new products for the Brazilian photovoltaic market in the second half of the year. The Tauro line of inverters, for companies that need more powerful equipment, and the GEN24 Plus single-phase hybrids, for homes, are now available.
According to the manufacturer, the equipment comes equipped with an active cooling system which, with the double wall of the hardware, protects the electronic part against high temperatures, promoting product durability, in addition to ensuring high performance even in environments up to 50 °C.
Taurus Line
According to Fronius, the Tauro line, ideal for commercial and industrial use, has some differences. They do not need to be removed with heavy machinery in case of repair. The structure allows repairs to be carried out by replacing the power module on site.
Furthermore, they can be mounted on the roof or in open space on the ground, in a daisy chain, connected with several inverters with less cable and distribution boxes. The solution also has integrated surge protection, which eliminates the need for additional components, the company said. The Fronius Tauro will be sold in the 50 kW and Fronius Tauro ECO versions of 50, 99 and 100 kW.
GEN24 Plus Hybrid
The Fronius GEN24 Plus single-phase hybrid inverter features a compact solution that works integrated with the conventional electrical grid and lithium batteries – and can also be used to power electric vehicles.
The product also guarantees energy supply with high alternating current output power and battery charging, even in the event of a power interruption from the local utility network. “In other words, in the event of a breakdown, the system activates emergency loads generated by solar modules, without the need to use these batteries”, explained the manufacturer.

According to Alexandre Borin, commercial manager of the Solar Energy unit at Fronius Brazil, the Fronius GEN24 Plus inverters are the evolution of the brain of the photovoltaic system, as they allow the management of electricity that is generated, consumed, stored and injected into the electrical grid. The Fronius GEN24 Plus can be found in power classes from 3 kW to 6 kW.
