The inverter manufacturer GoodWe has expanded its portfolio of products available for the Brazilian photovoltaic market. Following the technological innovations in the market, the company has updated the capacity of its inverters. The new HT line, the manufacturer's first launch in the country in 2021, is aimed at large-scale projects and also centralized generation.
According to the manufacturer, the line has 100, 110, 120 and 136kW models with 1100Vdc input voltage and 225 and 250kW models with 1500Vdc input voltage. Furthermore, all inverters in the HT line have a 30A input limit per MPPT, making it possible to work with higher power modules.
“The HT line has a full range of features for large projects, such as power supply for solar tracker, PLC communication and integrated DPS and sectioning protections”, highlights Alexandre Pereira, service manager at GoodWe Brasil.
“In addition to having IP66 protection class, which allows installation even under rain and C5 corrosion certification, for installation in extreme environments. It is still possible to carry out nighttime maintenance on the inverters and compensate reactive energy on the grid at night,” he adds.
Gray Line
Recently, the manufacturer launched a family of inverters with a more affordable price for the photovoltaic market. The Gray line has single-phase equipment of 3, 5 and 6kW, does not have DPS DC and AC and has a gray finish.
Portfolio upgrade
Another new feature from GoodWe for this year was the update of all inverter lines for compatibility with higher power modules (450-550W), which also have a higher working current.
“Inverters have had an increase in the input current limit. Today, our single-phase lines (XS, DNS and MS), from 3 to 10kW, have 12.5A to 13A current limit per string input and 600Vdc maximum input voltage. This allows integrators to use a large part of the modules up to 550 W without any type of waste or restriction on the inverter’s part”, explains Pereira.
“As for the three-phase 380Vac lines, we launched specific models for higher power modules, which is the BF-MT line, with a limit of 14.6A for powers of 50, 60, 75 and 80kW.”, explains the service manager at GoodWe Brazil.
Also according to Pereira, GoodWe has the largest portfolio of 220Vac (low voltage) three-phase inverters on the world market. “We have seven different models, 12, 15, 20, 30, 35, 50 and 73kW. They cover the entire range of three-phase installations in low voltage networks, common in several Brazilian cities”, he states.
The expert also highlights that the low voltage inverter makes it possible to install a photovoltaic system without the need for a voltage transformer. This eliminates transformer losses, simplifying installation and increasing the system's final performance.
Furthermore, Pereira highlights that the manufacturer has 75kW inverters with 380Vac and 73kW models with 220Vac, aimed at microgeneration. “Since 2019, we have had the GW75K-MT inverter, three-phase with 380V AC output and in April 2021 we launched the GW73KLV-HT model, three-phase with 220V AC output, the most powerful in the world with this output voltage. Now we have perfect inverters for microgeneration projects up to 75kW, whether at 220Vac or 380Vac, where the integrator can use only one inverter in the system, reducing the cost of the project.”, he says.
Real Time
Realizing market interest in monitoring load consumption and limiting exports, GoodWe will promote the offering of these solutions from this month onwards.
“We have single-phase and three-phase solutions. Devices such as the SEC1000 are capable of measuring the consumption of loads in a three-phase installation, as well as limiting the power exported to the grid and dynamically compensating reactive energy. For residential solutions, we have the GM1000 and GM3000 smart meters, for export limitation and the HK1000 and HK3000 Home Kits for monitoring load consumption, which work with inverters of any brand, or even without connected inverters”, says Pereira .
energy storage
GoodWe currently has a portfolio of hybrid inverters for use with batteries, photovoltaic modules and priority loads. In addition, it has AC-coupled inverters with batteries to transform a conventional on-grid system that has already been installed into a hybrid system. “For both types, we offer single-phase and three-phase versions, which already include in the box all the accessories needed for product installation, such as smart meters, battery communication cabling and CTs,” highlights the service manager at GoodWe Brazil.
Pereira also informs that the manufacturer also supplies lithium batteries, 48v or high voltage, manufactured in-house. “We opened our battery factory in 2020 and today we can deliver the complete solution for storage systems. Using our batteries, installation and commissioning are extremely simplified, there is no risk of incompatibility and no need for special parameterization”, concludes Pereira.
