HiTHIUM, a Chinese manufacturer of energy storage systems, has surpassed the 200 GWh mark in accumulated supplies since the start of its commercial operations in late 2021.
The result was announced last week at an event held at the company's industrial unit in Chongqing, China.
In just over a year, the company doubled the cumulative volume of equipment supplied, going from 100 GWh, a milestone reached in August 2025, to 200 GWh in October 2026.
According to the company, the growth is linked to the expansion of its production capacity, the integration of its supply chain, and the expansion of its international operations.
The company also reported that it had advanced in the global ranking of energy storage system suppliers, moving from fifth position in 2023 to third in 2024, and reaching second place in 2025 and in the first half of 2026.
To support the expansion, the manufacturer reported that it intends to focus investments on long-duration energy storage (LDES), equipment integration, and expanding delivery capacity in different markets.
According to Jason Wang, co-founder and CEO of HiTHIUM, the growth of the storage market requires manufacturers to develop capabilities that go beyond offering individual devices.
According to the executive, the sector's competitiveness increasingly depends on the integration between technological development, manufacturing, supply chain, and project execution.
In this context, the company established three strategic priorities: technological innovation, integration of operations, and sustainable development.
In the innovation arena, HiTHIUM aims to accelerate the international deployment of its integrated long-duration storage solution, developed with battery cells in the kAh (kiloampere-hour) class.
The strategy also includes the development of solutions that encompass different stages of storage systems, from battery cells to the equipment needed for integration with the electrical grid.
The goal is to expand the applications of the technology in electrical systems with a high reliance on renewable sources, such as solar and wind, which require flexible resources to balance generation and consumption.
Industrial expansion and international operations
The Chongqing industrial unit plays a central role in the manufacturer's expansion plans. According to the company, the facility was recognized as the first battery factory for energy storage to receive the Lighthouse Factory designation, awarded to industrial units that adopt advanced manufacturing technologies.
HiTHIUM intends to use the infrastructure to expand large-scale production and improve integration between suppliers, industrial processes, and equipment distribution.
The international strategy will be coordinated by the company's headquarters in Xiamen, China, with support from the Chongqing factory and the expansion of local operations in other countries.
According to the manufacturer, the goal is to integrate product development, manufacturing, supply chain, and delivery to meet the demand for storage systems in different markets.
The company also intends to expand collaboration with local suppliers and partners, as well as invest in the evolution of its industrial processes and customer service.
Next Steps
For the coming years, HiTHIUM plans to advance the development of long-duration storage technologies, enhance the intelligent manufacturing systems of its industrial unit, and strengthen its international supply capacity.
The manufacturer also set as its next goal to reach an additional 100 GWh in cumulative supplies, continuing the expansion begun in 2021. “This milestone wasn’t just about growth, but about expanding end-to-end capabilities,” stated Jason Wang, co-founder and CEO of HiTHIUM.
