AI (artificial intelligence) has become a central theme in global technological discussions, and its rapid advancement has not gone unnoticed. With each new application, whether in supporting operational processes, customer service through chatbots or data management in companies, AI has been transforming entire sectors.

However, behind the benefits of this technology that optimizes the daily lives of organizations and makes life easier for users, there is a growing challenge: the massive consumption of electrical energy.

Recent studies have warned about the environmental impact of this growth. According to the World Economic Forum, AI’s energy demand is doubling every 100 days, raising concerns about a potential global electricity crisis.

Large corporations like Microsoft have been expanding their infrastructure to support the advancement of AI, resulting in a significant increase in carbon emissions. While some companies are investing in renewable energy credits to offset these impacts, the problem persists.

A fundamental part of this equation are data centers, the true pillars of AI. These centers, responsible for storing and processing data on a large scale, consume a huge amount of energy and cannot cope with any type of intermittency in supply.
