Joint Venture proposes to democratize access to solar energy

Partnership between Genyx and Smartben aims to offer the excess energy generated by the system at an affordable price

With the aim of stimulating and democratizing solar energy, Genyx announced in partnership with Smartben the creation of WeGen, a joint venture that aims to facilitate hiring for those who cannot install photovoltaic panels for technical reasons.

The launch took place at the 7th Brazilian Distributed Generation Congress (CBGD) and at Expo GD, held on November 9th and 10th, in Belo Horizonte (MG).

According to the companies, the aim of the partnership is to offer small consumers the excess energy generated by the system at an affordable price. This contracting will be carried out through integrators, through a platform, who will carry out an analysis of the capacity and consumption of the system as a whole, in order to avoid waste.

“Our platform also aims to provide a new business model with recurring revenue for integrators and the opportunity for small producers to enter the distributed generation market”, said Rodrigo Matos, partner at Smartben.

For Lucas Freitas, CEO of Genyx, economy and sustainability are the main attractions in consumers' view when faced with the Joint Venture proposal. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of promoting the distributed generation that will be possible, through assistance to the needs of integrators.

Within this proposal, WeGen's partner integrators will receive, on a recurring basis, 2% of the amount paid by customers. Values can be monitored directly through the platform application.

“Our energy is generated by a cooperative of small producers, with low impact on nature. Any resident in Minas Gerais can save on their electricity bill and participate in the energy revolution, which is a future that has already begun”, concluded Freitas.

According to Paula Cançado, partner at Smartben, the partnership with Genyx comes to further strengthen the company's proposal. “With a business model strongly focused on micro and small companies, our platform takes care of all bureaucratic and administrative procedures with energy concessionaires”, she highlighted.

For Matos, WeGen will be an important tool to stimulate the production of solar energy. “Our online platform aims to guarantee, through access to energy from renewable sources, savings on your electricity bill.”

“It also aims to provide a new business model with recurring revenue for integrators and the opportunity for small producers to enter the distributed generation market.” concluded.
