Chinese manufacturer GCL System Integration plans to build the world's largest photovoltaic module factory. The 60 MW facility will be built in eastern China's Anhui province, with a total investment of approximately US$2,5 billion.
According to the company, the project will be developed in four phases, with the first stage of 15 GW expected to be launched later this year and the others by the end of 2023, depending on sales and production capacity.
GCL SI did not provide additional technical and financial details about the plan. The company currently owns and operates five module factories across mainland China and one in Vietnam, with a combined capacity of 6 GW.
