The 3rd Brazilian Congress of Women in Energy will take place at the Renaissance Hotel, in São Paulo (SP), on August 26th, XNUMX.

In addition to discussing the greater inclusion of women in the production and energy decision-making process in the country, there will be spaces for networking between speakers and participants. Women in the Brazilian electricity sector

Data in the “World Energy Transitions Outlook 2022” da IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency), worldwide, women represent an index of 32% in workforce of renewable energy, in addition, they are employed with lower wages.

In research published by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), of the positions held by women, 31,78% are administrative, 11,33% operational and only 22,24% are leadership positions.

The lack of incentives for technical training, gender bias and historical occupations are the barriers that most interfere with the hiring of women, according to the data.

Gender equality has already been included by the UN (United Nations), as an essential objective for fulfilling the SDG 5 (Sustainable Development Goals) 2030 up.

By the same year, there will be around 139 million jobs in the global energy sector, providing an opportunity to include more women in the energy process.
