O IMC (Melo Cordeiro Institute) will inaugurate a solar energy system. The institute works with cultural and educational projects outside of school hours for children and adolescents in the region of Ferraz Vasconcelos (SP).
The opening event will take place on Monday (11), starting at 14 pm, at the institution's operational headquarters.
The installed solar energy system consists of 15 solar panels, with a power of 445 Wp, and three inverters.
Almost R$20 were invested, generating savings of almost R$10 reais per year for the institution, in addition to ensuring a 100% clean energy matrix.
The savings will be used to strengthen the services offered by the Melo Cordeiro Institute, which has almost 20 permanent employees and serves around 150 children living in vulnerable areas, favelas, communities and outskirts of the city.
Cultural, educational, socio-emotional, environmental and social activities are offered on site, in addition to access to healthy food.
In addition to energy efficiency, the project aims to develop the concepts of sustainability, clean energy and the environment with the institution's participants and their families.
All equipment and installation were donated by the distributor. CorSolar, which belongs to the Melo Cordeiro Group. The project also has the institutional support of ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy) and the City Hall of Ferraz de Vasconcelos (SP).
Present at the inauguration ceremony will be Kethlin Cordeiro, president of the institute; Priscila Gambale, mayor of Ferraz de Vasconcelos (SP); Daniel Balke, vice-mayor, and Carlos da Silva, secretary of the city's Favelas.
The inauguration will also feature Rodrigo Sauaia, executive president of ABSOLAR; Bruno Reis, CEO of CorSolar; Bruno Catta Preta, director of Institutional Relations of the Melo Cordeiro Group and Bruno Poá, operations manager of the Gerando Falcões network.
