Manufacturer SSM do Brasil has increased its production capacity for aluminum photovoltaic fixings and structures to 1,2 thousand tons per month, meaning the company will be able to offer 14,4 thousand tons per year to the Brazilian photovoltaic market.
According to the company, this increase was due to the start of operations at the new manufacturing unit located in Jaboatão dos Guararapes (PE). Also according to the company, the annual production capacity of aluminum photovoltaic structures will support around 10 million photovoltaic modules.
“For us at the SSM Solar do Brasil group, this is a milestone in the country’s history, as we are the first company to manufacture structures in the northeast of Brazil. Serving the north and exports, we have consolidated ourselves as the largest company in the market, not only serving Brazil, but the entire Mercosur region,” highlighted Carlos Bebiano, CEO of SSM do Brasil.
“For the first half of 2023 we will have several new features arriving, with the consolidation of factories increasing production capacity, enhancing service and optimizing our deliveries”, he added.
The executive also highlighted that the manufacturing unit in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, in addition to producing aluminum, is also focused on extrusion and transformed steel.
The factory has a production capacity of 5.950 tons of steel per month, equivalent to a production of 71,4 tons per year. With the changes, the company now has an annual production capacity for steel photovoltaic structures to support around 5,5 million photovoltaic panels.
According to SSM Brazil, in addition to promoting the photovoltaic market and contributing to the production chain, the start of the factory's operations generated around 2 direct and indirect jobs in the region.
