GreenYellow has signed a contract with Mais Shopping, located in Santo Amaro (SP), to modernize the lighting system in the mall's common areas. The project will receive an initial investment of R$ 600, entirely funded by the French multinational.

The initiative will be implemented using an "as a Service" model, in which GreenYellow provides the necessary funding for implementation, is responsible for the solution's performance, and the client only starts paying for the project after it becomes operational, which is scheduled for November.

“This model allows companies to accelerate investments in energy efficiency without the need for initial outlay, reducing risks and ensuring predictability of results,” says Gustavo Tognetta, Head of Energy Efficiency Sales at GreenYellow.

The project foresees the replacement of approximately 1.327 lighting points with more efficient equipment, in addition to upgrades to the existing electrical infrastructure. The modernization also includes the standardization of lighting in common areas.

According to the company, the solution was developed in accordance with the criteria of NBR ISO 8995-1, a standard that establishes lighting requirements for indoor environments.

“The signed contract contributes to reducing energy consumption, improving lighting quality, and advancing our sustainability agenda, aligned with best practices in environmental and operational management,” says Rodrigo Moyses, superintendent of Mais Shopping.

Partnership begins at Mais Shopping

The signed contract marks the beginning of GreenYellow's partnership with Gazit Malls, the administrator of Mais Shopping and also responsible for six other shopping malls in the state, including Internacional Shopping, in Guarulhos (SP), Morumbi Town Shopping, in the capital of São Paulo, and Prado Boulevard, in Campinas (SP).

According to Tognetta, the characteristics of the retail sector, especially shopping malls, make energy efficiency a tool for reducing operational costs.

“The retail sector has characteristics that make energy efficiency an important lever for competitiveness. Our role is to develop solutions that reduce energy consumption, increase operational efficiency, and support our clients in their decarbonization goals,” he states.
