A SPIC Brazil, a subsidiary of the Chinese energy giant, is still accepting applications for the 4th edition of the Geração Inovação program, a RDI (Research, Development and Innovation) initiative aimed at driving technological advances in the Brazilian energy sector.

In this edition, the focus is on solar energy projects in the GC (centralized generation) segment, with an emphasis on critical challenges for the efficiency and operation of photovoltaic plants.

The chosen companies will receive investments for the development of their solutions, aligned with the RDI programs regulated by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

This year's program focuses on two major technology challenges:

  • Energy storage in photovoltaic plants: Participants must propose a scalable remuneration model for BEES (Battery Energy Storage System) in the Brazilian electricity context.
  • Asset management in solar plants: proposals will be accepted to improve the monitoring of trackers, strings and inverters of photovoltaic plants to identify inefficiencies, in addition to improving the forecast of energy generation in the short, medium and long term, and increase the reliability and prediction of failures in solar plant equipment.

Startups, research centers, universities and interested companies can register until December 12, 2024, through the form available on the official website Generation Innovation 2025.

Once the deadline has passed, all interested parties will receive an invitation to submit proposals via a public call, and must submit them between December 13, 2024 and January 31, 2025.
