The year 2026 begins with impressive numbers for MMGD (Micro and Mini Distributed Generation) in Brazil. A survey by Datlaz, with data consolidated on January 19, 2026, indicates that CEMIG-D, from Minas Gerais, holds the absolute leadership in the country in installed capacity, reaching 5.259,38 MW, reinforcing the Southeast's leading role in the advancement of decentralized generation. The Southeast concentrates the largest volume in the country. The Southeast region remains the main hub of Brazilian distributed generation. In addition to CEMIG-D's (MG) leadership among distributors, the highlight in the municipal segment is Rio de Janeiro (RJ), which totals 352,39 MW in installed capacity, reflecting the maturity of the local market. Paraná drives performance in the South. In the South, growth is driven by Paraná, where COPEL-DIS registers 4.025,12 MW, consolidating itself as one of the largest distributors in the country in connected capacity. Among the municipalities in the region, Foz do Iguaçu (PR) leads with 175,20 MW. The Central-West region gains relevance with Brasília. The Central-West region shows consistent progress, with Energisa MT reaching 2.902,74 MW of installed capacity. In the municipal ranking, Brasília (DF) stands out by registering 530,43 MW, ranking among the capitals with the highest volume of micro and mini-distributed generation in Brazil. The Northeast expands its presence outside major centers. In the Northeast, Neoenergia COELBA (BA) leads the regional market, totaling 2.348,19 MW. In the municipal ranking, Teresina (PI) appears in first place, with 346,93 MW, indicating the interiorization of the growth of distributed generation. The North advances with concentration in Pará. The North region also shows significant expansion. Equatorial Pará concentrates the largest regional volume, with 1.505,01 MW installed. Among the municipalities, Belém (PA) leads with 240,61 MW, bringing together the largest number of connected assets in the region. Strategic reading for the market According to Datlaz, mapping installed capacity by region is essential to assess network saturation levels, identify operational bottlenecks, and map expansion opportunities. The evolution of capacity by distributor is considered one of the main indicators for strategic investment decisions throughout 2026.
