The estimated total cost of Covid Account, an emergency loan of R$ 14,8 billion to the electricity sector, was reduced to CDI + 3,79%, reported this Thursday (09) the CCEE (Electric Energy Commercialization Chamber), responsible for managing the financial operation.
The value is made up of the interest rate equivalent to CDI + 2,8%, plus structuring commissions of 2,5% on the contracted value.
The operation will involve the participation of 16 financial institutions, including: ABC Brasil, Alfa, Banco do Brasil, BNDES, BOCOM BBM, Bradesco BBI, BTG, CCB, Citibank, Credit Suisse, Itaú BBA, JP Morgan, Safra, Santander, SMBC and Votorantim.
Created to reduce the impacts of the new coronavirus pandemic on electricity bills and inject liquidity into companies in the electricity sector, Conta-Covid was joined by 50 of the 53 distributors operating in the country.
According to the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), the loans will have a grace period until July 2021 and mature in December 2025. The composition of the contributions will still be defined, but public banks will be responsible for 29% of the offer and private banks for 71%. % remaining.
Now, CCEE awaits the dispatch of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) which approves the total value of the operation, as well as the draft contracts by the financial institutions and the signing of the documents.
The contractual instruments will then be recorded to release the disbursement. The expectation is that transfers to distributors can occur by the end of this month.
